Powered by Water, Driven by Purpose
At Bristol Water, we’ve been serving generations of families since 1846. Ensuring people in our communities have access to healthy water is paramount, which is why we work around the clock testing our water hundreds of times a day.
We’re proud to be part of Pennon Group, a leader in the UK water sector, working towards a greener future. Our goals? As well as lowering our carbon footprint, we’re working with partners to plant 300,000 trees, restore peatlands and supporting farmers and landowners to improve water quality and wildlife.
Whether you’re starting out or seeking a new challenge, our scale and ambition create opportunities for you to shape your own career.

Turn your passion for fishing into your working day.
If you’re an angler who knows their way around a reservoir…
If early starts, evening light on the water and talking fishing all day sounds like a good life…
This role was built for you.
The waters you’ll work on
You’ll be based across nine Bristol Water lakes, including the legendary Chew Valley Lake and Blagdon Lake , names that carry serious weight in UK angling.
These reservoirs support the region’s drinking water supply, protect nationally important wildlife habitats, and are home to Bristol Water Fisheries, one of the UK’s premier fisheries, renowned for trout and predator fishing.
Chew Valley Lake is also the current holder of the British pike record.
Around 500,000 visitors come through our gates every year - any of them anglers - and you’ll be right at the centre of their experience.

Welcome anglers, check tickets and share local fishing knowledge
Monitor fish welfare, water conditions and site safety
Maintain banks, jetties, car parks and access points
Look after our Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), helping protect sensitive habitats while keeping fishing and recreation running smoothly
Engage positively with members of the public, from regular anglers to first-time visitors
Take responsibility for site safety and visitor satisfaction, ensuring everyone enjoys the lakes safely and responsibly
Act as a visible, knowledgeable presence on the water - approachable, professional and firm when needed
When you'll work
Generous salary£25,204.40
2 weekends out of 3 and bank holidays included
Mix of early starts (7am) and late finishes (sunset + 1 hour)

Enjoy engaging with anglers and providing great customer service
Are practical, reliable and happy with physically demanding outdoor work

Are approachable and professional, but firm when needed
Take responsibility for public safety, fish welfare and our assets
Are proactive, observant and able to use your initiative
