We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Plant Technician to join our Production team. In this hands-on operational role, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining water treatment and pumping assets, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of high-quality water to our customers.
You’ll work across mechanical, electrical, chemical, instrumentation and control systems, carrying out inspections, diagnosing faults, and completing first-line maintenance. Safety, quality and environmental compliance are at the heart of everything you’ll do.
What you’ll be doing:
Operating and monitoring water treatment and pumping plant in line with company procedures.
Diagnosing faults across chemical, mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
Carrying out first-line maintenance and repairs to agreed service levels.
Monitoring plant performance and recording accurate operational, analytical and statutory data.
Handling and managing chemicals safely, including bulk deliveries and use of specialist PPE.
Responding effectively to incidents, including high-risk situations such as confined space and HAZMAT environments.
Working closely with colleagues, contractors and external bodies to ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
Assisting with the training and development of new Plant Technicians.
Supporting audits, inspections and quality assurance activities.
Taking part in emergency response and out-of-hours activities where required.
What we’re looking for
Essential
A clean, valid driving licence including Category C (up to 7.5 tonnes).
Willingness to achieve required licences and qualifications, including ADR (toxic chemicals), forklift operation and electrical competencies.
Ability to pass Breathing Apparatus medicals and confined space certifications.
Computer literacy, with confidence using SCADA systems, telemetry and standard office software.
A flexible, proactive team player with strong communication skills.
Commitment to working safely and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including Maths, Science and English.
Desirable
Experience working in a continuous process or industrial environment.
Exposure to water treatment or similar regulated industries.
